Are you an experienced Learning and Development Manager looking for the opportunity to develop organisational and staff capabilities to meet the University’s current and future requirements?
Join the Organisational Development team at the University of Kent as Learning and Development Manager for the next eighteen months and you’ll play a key role to initiate and manage new and existing learning and development and organisational development programmes that will form part of our new Institutional and People Strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Organisational Development you will be a member of the Human Resources management team at an exciting time for the department. You will directly manage all members of the Learning and Development team and will have contact with managers and staff across the University.
As the Learning and Development Manager, you will:
- initiate and manage the development, implementation and continuous refinement and review of cross-organisational learning and development and leadership and management initiatives
- create and sustain a learning based and inclusive organisational culture which is responsive to change and continuous improvement by building collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
- support the creation and implementation of strategies and policies related to employee development, talent and succession planning, including the development of surveys, frameworks, induction, and performance management
As the Learning and Development Manager, you will have:
- extensive experience analysing organisational needs, and designing, commissioning and delivering learning and development and leadership development programmes to high standards
- knowledge of the theories of learning and development initiatives and their practical application in large, complex, professional organisations
- significant experience managing, motivating and developing a team to provide high quality service and excellent results across multiple projects
- effective engagement, consultancy and facilitation skills
- experience conducting training and development evaluations and measuring return on investment and value for money
