Are you a Purchase Ledger Clerk? Would you like to work 2 days a week on a Thursday and Friday? If so we have an ideal role for you.
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant on a part-time basis 2 days per week to join their hardworking, customer focused Finance team. The main purpose of the role will be to process and manage all purchase ledger activities and to consistently apply established controls and processes when undertaking these tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities;
Purchase ledger:
• Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
• Code and input purchase invoices and credit notes onto Sage with speed and accuracy
• Obtain signed authorisation for any purchases without a purchase order
• Conduct supplier payment runs, scheduling payments to make best use of available cash
• Maintain and update the register of regular invoices
• Reconcile the purchase ledger to supplier statements, resolving any differences as they arise
• Respond to supplier queries
Occasional/general finance duties
• Opening and sorting the post
• Input journals onto Sage with speed and accuracy
• Review and process staff expenses
• Process and reconcile bank accounts, including foreign currency accounts
• Process and reconcile petty cash accounts
• Any other duties reasonable requested by the Financial Controller
Experience needed;
- Purchase Ledger experience is essential
- Strong attention to detail skills
- The ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy
- A sound understanding of Sage Line 50 Accounts software
- You will be required to deal directly with internal and external customers and therefore are required to have strong communication skills over the phone, via email and face to face
- The successful candidate will be able to use Microsoft applications competently, including Word, Outlook and particularly Excel.
