LDC is a family run business based in East Kent. LDC has steadily grown since it was set up in 1999. Due to recent growth, we are seeking a Manager to join our Management Team.
The role requires someone who is committed and driven to provide excellent care to our service users. LDC prides itself on developing services based on the individual needs of the people who use our service. We were part of the Wave 2 CQC inspection of the new way of inspecting services – we were rated ‘good’ across the board.
LDC has a mixture of Residential services and Supported Living services where service users are supported to achieve their full potential and independence. The people we support have a range of issues including learning disability, personality disorders, mental health issues, epilepsy, health issues, sensory impairments, addictions issues, challenging behaviours.
The potential candidate must demonstrate a reliable and flexible approach to adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by employer. We have an exception under the Equality Act 2010.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
• To play an active role in cross divisional teams to ensure the
consistent high quality of all LDC homes.
• To market, expand and further develop the Company.
• To manage, guide and support employees and service users.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Employer requires the highest standards in performance at work and general conduct and in particular must:
• be diligent, honest and ethical in the performance of your duties and during working hours devote the whole of your time, attention and abilities to them;
• render your services in a professional and competent manner in willing co-operation with others and at all times conform to the reasonable directions of your Director;
• conduct your personal and professional life in a way which does not risk adversely affecting the Company's standing and reputation;
• undertake such travel as may be required for the proper performance of your duties;
• adhere to any policies and/or procedures from time to time in force;
• be polite and courteous in your behaviour at all times and dress appropriately and maintain a high standard of tidiness; and
• at all times comply with the rules and procedures of any association or professional body to which the Company and/or you may from time to time belong.
PERSON SPECIFICATION - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The following qualities are considered essential for the post of Manager of Care
• A management qualification or care qualification equivalent to
QCF Level 4 or equivalent/relevant experience
• Able to take responsibility
• Leadership skills
• Self motivated
• Organised
• Flexible
• Caring
• Sensitive to the needs of others
• An active team player but also able to work on own initiative
• A good communicator
• Committed to high standards
• Committed to training
• Experience of running a busy unit
