The Company

A SME family business in it's twelfth year which has shown growth since inception. Subzero operate their own fleet of refrigerated vehicles and also subcontract work to other operators. Offices are based in Marden and the operating centre is in Gillingham, Kent.

Main areas of business are:

Multi temperature controlled groupage transport for European hauliers with final delivery to hard to access delivery points.
Transport for wholesalers and distributors that require deliveries within the South East and London using smaller delivery vehicles.
National transport for food manufacturers on a day 1 for day 2 delivery system.
International export and import groupage transport.
Multi temperature storage, handling and distribution.

Opportunity

This is a chance for an individual to grow within a fast moving company. This position reports solely to the Managing Director and in the absence of the MD this individual will have complete control of the day to day running of the business.

This position is for a person who enjoys complex planning scenarios and is very capable of working independently. Candidates must have a high level of accuracy and acumen. A thorough knowledge of current and forthcoming laws in this area including, but not just, current EC legislation on Drivers Hours and The Working Time Directive. The position also requires the ability to completely manage the Company Health and Safety Policy. A thorough knowledge of IT systems will be beneficial but full training will be provided on the systems used by the Company.

Hours

Office hours 0800-1730hrs Monday to Friday. Out of hours will be required in communicating with delivery staff and clients as and when required.
Initially the successful candidate will work in Marden then transfer to the operating centre in Gillingham, Kent.
