We are looking to recruit an Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer for our client based on the outskirts of Canterbury Kent.


The Purpose of Role is to establish, monitor and improve supplier performance in terms of the quality of supplied parts. Ensure that supplied parts are fit for purpose; to enable development and supply of commercial connection solutions to customer’s needs.

Confirm that related procedures and equipment are adequate to achieve delivery timescales and quality performance metrics. To establish and develop supplier relationships, including process improvements, to ensure world class quality standards and commercial targets are achieved.

To monitor in house piece-part compliance.


Key Accountabilities

• To carry out first article inspections as required.

• To determine the quality and compliance of goods received.

• To contribute to the establishment and development of customer quality standards.

• To represent the company in quality meetings with customers and suppliers both on and off site.

• To support Engineering and Production in investigations, corrective actions, assessments and process improvements.

• To review in house capabilities, procedures, equipment and working practises associated with piece-part inspection and quality maintenance; and to propose any associated process improvements.

• To establish and maintain supplier quality performance metrics.

• To devise and implement a supplier quality improvement plan.

• To contribute to the Technology Plan for the identification and development of appropriate technological developments to drive and consolidate business advantage.

• Enthusiastic, proactive & driven
• Relevant qualifications (apprenticeship. toolroom)
• Precision mechanical piecepart inspection
• Good mechanical engineering skills
• ISO9001 awareness
• Computer literate.
• Ability to work alone or as a member of a small team.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
