An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Canterbury Christ Church University Human Resources and Organisational Development Department (HR&OD) at a time of real change and ambitious plans. We are modernising how we work to improve the staff and student experience and position us as a modern, forward thinking employer, supporting the University to be a sustainable and successful organisation.
The Role
The Employment Services Team within the Human Resources & Organisational Development Department (HR&OD) is a varied and challenging area, providing a first class advisory service and transactional support to the University on a wide variety of People issues. We have a part time, fixed term vacancy for an HR Assistant, to help cover maternity leave.
Focussing on providing excellent HR Services for the University, responsibilities will include providing a professional first line advisory service to staff and managers, efficient and effective payroll administration and issuing contractual documentation.
The Person
Educated to A-level or equivalent, you must have previous HR administrative experience. You will need to be well organised with a demonstrable commitment to providing a high-quality service. This role requires excellent written and spoken communication and customer service skills and the ability to use HR and e-recruitment databases as well as MS Office programmes to an intermediate level.
You will need to be methodical, with an eye for detail and able to look critically at what we do to help us to improve our services. Full support and training, will be available.
