JOB TITLE: Team Leader Accounts and Advisory
This role will suit someone who is looking for progression or a sideways step if you already hold a similar position. You will be ACCA or ACA qualified, have worked in a medium size practice.
My client a firm of accountants are now looking to expand their team of 40 staff members including 9 partners.
As team leader/ portfolio position, your duties will include but not limited to the following:
Manage a portfolio of clients sole traders and some SME's as well as run other jobs as allocated on an adhoc basis by partners and associate partners.
This involves the following:
Planning the assignment efficiently to meet budgets and recoverability of fees required
Allocating applicable staff resource
Controlling and reviewing work done
Feedback to staff and appraising them
Ensuring complete job passed to partner/associate partner
Interaction with other departments as required e.g. tax, cosec, payroll
Client informed of progress
To identify cost savings on jobs and make best use of resources
To act as a quality control on account and audit files
To supervise and train allocated teams
Interacts fully with clients as a point of contact by email, phone calls and on-site reviews
Manage time effectively
Delegate effectively
Help to keep the team focussed
Plan ahead to make optimum use of resources and time
Ensure technical knowledge is up to date
Undertake CPD in accordance with Institute and Vantis requirements and maintain up to date CPD record
Provide coaching and support on technical matters to team members
Manage people effectively
Ensure team members understand expectations
Guides performance of others whilst holding them accountable
Ensures that people work well together as part of a team in and out of the office
Understands the needs of others - staff and clients
Work to maintain/improve communications with client and feeds back to line manager(s) as appropriate
Use tact and diplomacy to deal with difficult situations
Present relevant and well reasoned arguments
Take appropriate level of responsibility to ensure the client receives the end product on a timely basis
Exceed client expectations
Provide empathy and support to client.
Basic salary circa 40k plus benefits.
