Purpose of the post:
The post-holder will be responsible for preparing and cooking the breakfast menu and all catering orders.
The successful applicant will be expected to work at a consistently high standard throughout the year, ensuring that all catering orders are ready for dispatch by 10.00am, while also cooking for a busy breakfast service, ensuring that Food Hygiene legislation is adhered to at all times and be able to hand over to the lunch staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To prepare, cook and control the catering products, ensuring food is consistently served to a high standard and in a timely manner
• To ensure that all necessary daily and weekly cleaning duties are carried out to a high standard
• To work efficiently to ensure food wastage is kept to a minimum
• Works well under pressure, proactive and forward thinking
• To work/lead with Student Kitchen Assistant as and when required
• Should be hardworking, confident and strong team player
Hours of work:
Monday – Friday 6.00am – 10.00am. Must be flexible to do extra hours, occasional evenings and weekends as required
Qualifications:
• You must have hands on experience within a catering kitchen
• Valid Level 2 Award in Food Safety in catering (preferred but not essential)
• Full driving licence and access to your own transport
