Legal Secretary
We are looking for a Legal secretary to provide a high level of administrative support for lawyers and legal executives. You will help with the day-to-day tasks involved in running a legal services or law firm.
You will need excellent written and spoken communication skills, and be able to work in a busy office working to deadlines. They hours are Monday to Friday 09.00 – 18.00.

As a legal secretary, your tasks would be varied.
• production of letters and legal documents such as wills, contracts and court papers
• working from notes and digital dictation
• answering telephone calls in a professional manner
• dealing with enquiries from clients via email, fax and letter
• using a diary management system and making appointments
• preparing court forms and statements
• keeping records of costs and controlling petty cash
• dealing with fee processes
• attending court or police cells with solicitors
• delivering and collecting documents
• copying, scanning and faxing, including preparation of large files
• Filing and other general administration work.

We are ideally looking for secretaries with recognised legal secretarial qualification such as:

• Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx)/City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate/Diploma for Legal Secretaries
• CILEx/City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for Legal Secretaries
• Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs (ILSPA) Legal Secretaries Diploma.

Skills Interests and Qualities
• Excellent secretarial skills
• Knowledge of law and legal procedures
• Computer literacy
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Discretion, for dealing with confidential information
• Good standard of spelling and grammar
• The ability to work to deadlines and do several tasks at the same time
• Ability to work well as part of a team and also on your own
• A polite, helpful manner.
• An advantage if you had audio transcription skills.
