To undertake responsibility for the activities of a team of API Pharmaceutical engineers and ensure the safe and effective use of all resources, with the intention of meeting all maintenance and production goals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Undertakes both supervisory and hands on work within the department, directing the team as required to ensure that
• Urgent and safety related work is carried out with the minimum of delay.
• Planned and preventative maintenance work is completed on time, and any outstanding work is kept to a minimum.
2. Liaises with other members of the API department and engineering to ensure continuity across the shifts.
3. Leads and guides the team on technical and interpersonal issues.
4. Assists the Engineering manager in performance management and development of the team.
5. Ensures that the team complies with regulatory, cGMP and safety policies, highlighting any unsafe or non-compliant situation or practice.
6. Initiates orders for materials and services up to pre determined limits, also to amend orders. Limits will be set by the Engineering manager, and may vary.
7. Records the engineers work patterns, holidays, absence and overtime on the appropriate document and presents to the Engineering manager for authorisation each week.
8. Monitors, maintains and updates the department P.M. system ensuring that all P.M’s are carried out on time, and that P.M.’s are written and issued for all new equipment.
9. Maintains the Engineering work order system with regard to this department; ensuring all work is carried out in a timely manner to the highest possible standards.
Qualifications and Experience
• Experience in the management of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) equipment, processes and systems.
• High degree of competence in Pressure systems regulations, COMAH and hazardous areas.
• Educated to H.N.C. or Degree level.
