The main purpose of the role is to analyse potential Capital Allowances claims, carry out surveys and produce reports for our clients in line with current legislation and observing our internal processes and procedures.
As a key member of the team you will be the main contact for guidance on qualifying claims and will play an active role in developing the skills and knowledge of junior team members.
As technical lead you will be responsible for ensuring that all claims processed by the team comply with current legislation. You will be expected to keep up to date with changes and communicate those changes to the capital allowances team.
You will command the respect of both clients and colleagues and demonstrate attributes including ownership of relationships and projects. You will be a strong team player and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism at all times.
This is a key role within the team and having the right person with the right skills is essential. As such, the hours and contract type can be flexible to meet your individual needs.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Meeting clients and their accountants
• Conducting CA surveys and producing reports
• Overseeing the quality and compliance of reports produced by junior staff
• Working with the business manager to ensure internal procedures are followed
• Work collaboratively with our agents and introducers to ensure compliance with legislation and adherence to RIFT values
Skills and Experience:
• Ideally a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, taxation specialist or possibly an accountant with significant post qualified experience.
• At least 5 years experience as a Capital Allowances surveyor
• Fully versant in all recent technical and legislation changes involving Capital allowances
• Relevant degree
• Good communication skills with a style that is open, honest, consistent and clear
• Keen attention to detail
• Results driven with an ability to work to targets and deadlines
• Full UK driving licence
