We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Accountant, to work within our small hard working team, to provide an accounting and a financial management service to the council, with a particular focus on capital, including property assets and projects.
You will be responsible for the preparation of revenue budgets, final accounts closedown and budget monitoring, including capital budget monitoring. The post will involve undertaking day to day vat queries and liaising with advisors on more complex vat issues.
It is essential that you have an AAT qualification or a relevant degree or equivalent and it is desirable that you are working towards a CCAB qualification and have experience of Public Sector Finance.
In addition, you will need to have excellent attention to detail, be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure. You will also need to be a team player with excellent communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and partners to achieve shared objectives within the department and the organisation as a whole.
