DUAL SUPPORT WORKER – SOCIAL HOURS
· 42 Weeks per year
· 40 hours per week
· Pay point 3 (£6.92 per hour)– 4 (£7.27 per hour) to reflect DSW social hours
This new role has been identified to cover the continuing requirement of supporting and preparing the children and young people during the educational day Monday to Friday. The role will also be responsible for assisting the young people in residence – including get ups and preparation for the education day, escorting to and from school or college, medical appointments and on transport escort duties which may include return travel to school/college. This role will include early mornings for get ups but will not be working evening or night shifts after 8pm. However the successful post holders will also support community disabled children’s clubs and projects out of term time.
A qualification in care at minimum Diploma / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is essential along with an appreciation of difficulties faced by deaf children, young people and adults with additional needs. The ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service is important. Full details of the requirements are outlined within the job specification.
