The Global Mobility Team continues to attract big name clients wishing to outsource their international assignment policy and processes. The flagship client is SPX which has been part of the TRS portfolio since 2007. This role will focus on managing the SPX account which will involve:

• Maintaining contact with the main point of contact in the US on all matters relating to the Service Level Agreement and monthly charging arrangements
• GM operational duties in the four Flow Technology divisions outside the main area of account activity in SPX Thermal which is managed by the GM Team Leader
• Maintaining shared systems with SPX such as Sharepoint which the GM team use to communicate shadow payroll information on a global basis

Core Areas of Activity

As part of a small team, you will be leading the Global Mobility operational process in the SPX account for Flow Technology and having overall account management responsibility with Corporate HR in Charlotte. The process is as follows:

1. Assignment Set Up

• Maintaining contact with each of the HR contacts in the four main divisions of the Flow Technology divisions as well as any Head office assignees
• Advise the line HR on cost of living, tax, social security, relocation and immigration data in order to prepare assignment cost approvals and cost projections
• Brief the TRS team on the data needed for excel spreadsheets for assignment approvals and obtaining approval from the line for this to take place
• Manage the contact with immigration, social security , relocation and tax advisors to ensure the vendors are initiated
• Checking letters and payroll instructions drafted by the admin team for submission to client
• Be able to set up Expat PAYE schemes

2. Assignment Maintenance

• Maintain reports on current status of assignees
• Hold regular monthly calls with senior client HR managers and client line managers on the current status of the assignees and identify issues in advance
• Be able to hold technical email discussions with tax advisors in a credible manner.
• Have the ability to make the complex simple
• Be able to know when to contact and deal with assignees directly

3. Assignment Completion

• Instructing external providers to contact assignees (as in assignment set-up) and manage the completion process


The Person

The preferred candidate must have managed an international assignment account ideally with a US based multi national. They must have the ability to deal with detailed technical information, particularly payroll data, and apply this to the business context. Evidence of technical or financial administration experience is essential, as well as being able to manipulate complex financial information accurately. You will be methodical and tenacious, not being put off by shifting priorities. Able to exhibit a high level of attention to detail this will be coupled with good judgement and proven numerical reasoning skills.

You will also be able to manage client relations at Senior Level and have the gravitas to debate complex issues in a balanced and diplomatic manner.

Qualifications and experience

• Experience: payroll processes, accounts, international assignment administration
• Previous experience of working with database/HR systems
• Good knowledge of Excel, preferably with the ability to do VLookUps and Powerpoint
• Language: Must be fluent in written and spoken English, with any other language skills likely to prove helpful

Core competencies

• Thinks clearly, exhibiting an effective communication style
• Builds good, collaborative, relationships
• Resilient attitude i.e. not easily blown off course by unpredictable work flows or tight timescales/deadlines
• Balances immediate and long term priorities
• Analytical skills, especially numerical reasoning
• Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills
