Our client is a highly successful and expanding multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Kent. Established for over 30 years, they have a varied client and project base from all sectors of the construction industry including education, housing, leisure, commercial and transport.
They are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor/ Employers Agent to join their growing team in Sidcup.
Job Content
• Prepare feasibility stage reports confirming likely expenditure, optional costs and anticipated programme to a level of detail informed by design progress and Clients constraints (time budget); including liaising with other consultants
• Liaise with all project team members to agree the proposed solution meets the brief in terms of functionally, statutory/legislative requirements, value for money/budget constraints, delivery programme and other related issues (e.g. sustainability)
• Produce appropriate tender documentation to secure a robust response including reviewing design information, confirming tender lists and responding to queries.
• Convene, chair, minute and attend (as agreed) all necessary progress meetings
• Undertake post contract administration duties (again as agreed) including issuing all necessary instructions/certificates and processing interim payment applications
Previous Experience
Should have experience of variety of construction projects within both the public and private sectors; familiarity with healthcare, social housing refurbishment, social housing new-build, education, leisure and missed use developments would be advantageous.
Technical Knowledge & Skill
Proven knowledge of all aspects of quantity surveying including both pre and post contract related duties. Ideally able to offer direct client liaison with some experience in team management.
Should be conversant with Excel spreadsheets and other standard Winds applications Familiarity with bespoke industry software; and MS Project in particular would again be advantageous
Educational Requirements and Professional Qualifications
Either a current member or working towards being a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) (Chartered Quantity Surveyor designation)
