A new position has become available for an Assistant Manager to take full responsibility for food and beverage in our Kentish countryside 27 bedroom B&B, 120 seat pub/restaurant and 90 cover function and wedding facility. Our offering extends to Continental and English breakfast, high class pub food and a quintessential English bar and country restaurant serving modern British cuisine. High quality of presentation with friendly and efficient service has to be maintained at all times. In the absence of the General Manager you will be responsible for organising a brigade of 28 full and part time waiting staff.

You will be required to support the Hotel Manager in the day to day running of the business and show across the board knowledge and experience in working within a busy hotel and restaurant environment.

As Assistant Manager your main responsibilities will be -

1) Providing a high quality experience for our guests in a relaxed atmosphere.
2) ensuring that all hygiene, health and safety requirements are complied with
3) Recruitment and training of food and beverage department staff
4) Ensuring standard of operating procedures are adhered to and you team have the relevant qualifications and training to deliver excellent customers service.

In summary we are seeking a candidate with proven knowledge and hands on experience of all faces of a hotel and restaurant. We expect a specialisation in food and beverage operations including kitchen. Previous relevant managerial experience is essential. Candidates will demonstrate self-motivation, excellent communication and organisation skills with attention to detail. Proven ability in working to high standards with high personal presentation is essential.

A staff flat above the pub is also available with en-suite bathroom and own kitchen. Rent is £50 per week. Own transport is essential due to our rural location.

We also offer 5.5 weeks annual leave per year and one weekend off per month for management staff.
