Permanent; Part-time - 7 hours per week (Friday)
Salary Scale: £2,631 - £2,801
Canterbury Oast Trust provides quality development opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in a variety of vocational subjects and settings across Kent and East Sussex. The Trust operates various Life Skill Projects where people can develop their skills in a supportive real life setting. Our shop sells a great range of gifts and local produce to help support the work of the Canterbury Oast Trust. It also provides valuable training opportunities for the adults with learning disabilities enabling them to devlop their retail and customer service skills.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic retail training tutor to deliver the City and Guilds accredited training programme within the Rare Breeds Centre Gift Shop. You will be able to co-ordinate and tutor all the training sessions, leading to formal assessments as part of the delivery of both Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications.
Training sessions will include supporting the Shop Manager in the practical day-to-day retail operations of the Shop, bringing training in direct service provision with visitors. This service has the potential of developing into a 2/3 day service as demand for places increases.
You should have previous retail experience with a recognised vocational qualification in retail/customer service, experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities and excellent communication skills. An enhanced criminal record check will be required for this role.
