You will be working as an Apprentice Chef at Canterbury College whilst completing your level 2 qualification in Catering.
As an apprentice you will help the chef prepare and cook dishes while training to be a full-time chef. You will also be required to oversees food supplies in refrigerators and storerooms, clean and serve food when necessary. Additionally, under supervision, you will operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, fryers, toasters, steamers, stoves and ovens.
Your main duties will include:
•To help prepare a range of dishes to meet both student and staff needs.
•To help in all areas of food preparation
•Ensure the Health & Safety requirements are met and, that systems and records are maintained.
•Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with legal requirements and College regulations.
•Participate in the College's Performance Review and Appraisal System.
•Such other duties as may be required from time to time by the College, that is within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of the post.

•high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
GCSE Grade D or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English is required.
Training to be Provided: You will attend Canterbury College one day every week to complete your level 2 Professional Chef qualification for the duration of 12 months.
Working week: Monday to Friday 7am-3pm, 37.5 hours per week with 1/2 an hour for lunch.
Weekly wage: £120.00
