LDC (Dover) Ltd is a family run business who provide high quality care for adults with learning disabilities. We are looking for an organised and motivated, caring individual, who has experience of managing teams within a care setting to join our management team. The individual will need to have experience of working with people with different learning disabilities and behaviours which can challenge, as well as supporting and managing a diverse workforce across various sites.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by employer. We have an exception under the Equality Act 2010.

Purpose of Position
• To play an active role in cross divisional teams to ensure the consistent high quality of care in all LDC (Dover) Ltd services.
• To market, expand and further develop the Company.
• To manage, guide and support employees and service users.

Person Specification – Essential Criteria

The following qualities are considered essential for the post of Manager of Care
• A management qualification or care qualification equivalent to QCF Level 4 or equivalent/relevant experience
• Self motivated
• Leadership skills
• Able to take responsibility
• Organised and flexible approach to work
• Caring and sensitive to the needs of others
• An active team player but also able to work on own initiative
• A good communicator with service users, staff, external professionals and family members
• Committed to high standards and to working within the requirements of the company with respect to CQC, Health and Safety, Environmental Health, COSHH, Medication, Fire Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Risk Assessment etc.
• Committed to encouraging and identifying training, including the mandatory courses as well as additional bespoke courses such as epilepsy, mental illness, and substance misuse, amongst others.
• Experience of running a busy unit.
