How much you achieve in life should not be determined by how much your parents earn. But in the UK it too often is. Teach First is a national charity and we belive in the power of education to change this. Our mission is to end inequality in education by building a community of exceptional leaders who create change within classrooms, schools and across society.
We’re looking for a goal-orientated individual who is excited by the opportunity to oversee Teach Firsts Leadership Development Programme in the South East. You will join a fast-paced team of 10 and oversee a programme for over 120 Teach First participants (trainee teachers) across the South East.
As Senior Programme Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the high quality and consistent delivery of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, which comprises a diverse selection of opportunities, ranging from a four week residential regional Summer Institute, high-profile speaker events, workshops, coaching opportunities and three week summer projects.
You will plan and deliver the programme for the South East, sourcing high quality partners to deliver specific elements and leading on all logistical aspects of the programme. You will also contribute towards the national development and direction of the Leadership Development Programme.
You will work closely with colleagues in your local area team to develop a coherent and high quality programme which meets the needs of participants in the South East whilst also balancing national requirements. You be supported by Senior Programme Officers in each of the 9 other Teach First areas as well as with the National Leadership Design Team and National Initial Teacher Training Partnership Team.
We’re looking for a self-starter with initiative, confidence, drive, and the flexibility to deal with unexpected situations. You’ll need proven experience managing an annual programme of events including budget and logistical knowledge. A successful track-record managing relationships with external stakeholders is essential. Experience in education, teacher training or leadership development would be advantageous but is not essential.
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, outlining how you meet the criteria in the job description. Please download the job description here: http://www.teachfirst.org.uk/careers/our-current-vacancies
