Based in the Canterbury area, our client - an international company - is seeking a qualified accountant to join them as Financial Controller. This job will suit a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant who can provide ownership for the financial controls, processes, measures and reporting for the business.

The job encompasses a wide range of responsibilities: financial, management & cost accounting; planning & directing
accounting activities; implementing of software upgrades; forecasting, budgeting & analysis; researching economic progressions; creating financial models of "what if" scenarios to help future business planning decisions; preparing & maintaining tax records & returns; being part of the senior management team which has responsibility for the strategic direction of the company; liaison with professional advisors.

This job would be of particular interest to a qualified accountant, possibly but not necessarily from a manufacturing or R&D sector. You will be a technically very accomplished accountant who can ensure that the company adheres strictly to its regulatory responsibilities and safeguard it from financial exposure. But you will also be commercial in outlook and constantly seek opportunities to improve the company's profitability and develop its growth.
