Drayman job opening

The Whitstable Brewery is an award-winning small brewery based in Grafty Green, deep in the heart of Kent. We need an energetic and motivated individual to help keep things running smoothly and make our customer service as high quality as our beer.

Duties:

Working week is delivery driving on Wednesday and Thursday each week, plus 2-3 Tuesdays per month, plus additional days may be available. A day’s delivery driving is usually 8:30 – 17:00 but this can vary.
Some work in the brewery may also be part of the role including:

- Loading and unloading
- Measuring ingredients
- Cleaning casks, kegs and vessels
- General cleaning

If business growth is as anticipated, the right candidate may be offered full-time work.

Requirements:

- Applicants must be 23 years of age or over due to vehicle insurance.
- Full, clean driver's licence.
- Own transport essential due to very limited public transport links in the area
- Experience of driving Transit-sized van and map reading essential.
- Due to highly physical duties, good strength and cardiovascular fitness is essential.
- Persons involved in the last 3 years in two or more accidents or one accident with costs exceeding £5000 will not be considered.
- Multi-drop delivery experience a definite advantage
- Reliability and attention to detail are cornerstones of this business so a successful candidate will be able to maintain focus at all times.
- The position will involve working as part of a small team so flexibility and the ability to be a team player are essential.
- Interest in Real Ale/experience in pub work an advantage.
- CRB check an advantage.
