Job Outline
The post holder will provide engineering services for the maintenance of the public lighting infrastructure.
The post holder must be prepared to undertake work outside normal office hours in the interests of the service, such as for an emergency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
o Assess the condition of public lighting infrastructure. Recommend and design future works for all street lighting assets and prepare structural bids for the improvement of the asset, in accordance with current standards.
o Package capital strengthening works identified by asset condition testing; monitor budgets and programmes and check work on site.
o Preparation of a programme of work for structural and electrical testing in accordance with current standards.
o Prepare Health and Safety Plans and risk assessments and ensure that work on site is carried out in a safe manner.
o Maintain the asset data inventory.
o Identify work that is to be re-charged to third parties or recovered via insurance.
o Investigate and compile reports for insurance claims against the Highway Authority.
o Work with Parish and District councils in respect of lighting owned by them.
o Providing information for KPI’s as required.
o Liaise with members of the public.
