Connect2Kent are looking for a Highways Technical Support Officer based in Ashford.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for incidents referred by the Contact Centre and other parts and determine the appropriate response time for deployment of resources.
To assist the team by undertaking duties to enable the Manager and Engineers to concentrate on complex and non-routine matters.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
o Be the first point of contact within the team for the Contact Centre, assess reports for accuracy, review the information provided, amend the priority in accordance with the Street Lighting Operating Manual.
o Respond to enquiries and allocate work direct to the contractor where appropriate.
o Manage reports relating to highway “emergencies” including determining the appropriate response and issuing works instructions.
o Update enquiries, works orders and asset information.
o Collect and collate relevant records and statistics for works recharges, responses to claims and internal funding bids.
o Assist in the preparation of work packages, programming of work and applications for work permits.
o Use specialist software to provide drawings and statistical information at the request of other team members.
o Assist in the collection and management of key performance indicators and information that can be used to improve any part of the service.
o Assist in financial administration including the raising of purchase orders and monitoring of budgets
o Undertake supplementary administrative and technical tasks as and when required, to support other team members and the manager.
Candidates will be required to register at our office in Kings Hill, West Malling and will also be required to complete an online skills test prior to registration.
