Community Support Worker – Mental Health

• £8 - 10 per hour - depending on experience
• A one-year contract, with possibility to extend
• Location: Maidstone Mind – Maidstone and surrounding areas
• Hours: 25 Hours per week. We would welcome applications from people wishing to work fewer than 25 hours as the job could be split. Mon to Fri, must be flexible as evening work and some weekends may occasionally be required
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role

Maidstone Mind was established in 1979 and is affiliated to National Mind, a leading mental health charity. We are dedicated to improving the lives of people who are experiencing mental health issues by providing well-respected recovery based community services, high quality information and advice.

We actively promote positive wellbeing and have recently launched our Recovery and Wellbeing Centre. We provide support to individuals, carers and families through a wide range of diverse services. The Community Support Worker role is a key role and the successful candidate will work closely with the team, ensuring successful delivery of its key recovery services.

The right candidate must have commitment, drive, a ‘can do’ attitude, as well as being conscientious, pro-active and possess the ability to identify risks and take action and who is committed to promoting well-being. A good through knowledge of the recovery model is required. It is important that you have good IT skills.

The main role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• To work in partnership with colleagues, families and other professionals in order to deliver, safe, high quality, recovery focused services for the people that we support in all aspects of their lives.

• To undertake administrative duties as required, to uphold efficient and effective filing systems

• Maintain Confidential records and deal appropriately with Adult Safeguarding issues

• To work effectively as part a team by actively participating in team meetings, supervision, training etc.

• To ensure the needs and aspirations of the people we support are met through effective person centred plans and regular reviews utilising the Recovery Star.

• To undertake the role of keyworker.

• Plan various groups over stated time periods, identifying key learning objectives and producing social outcomes.

You will be reporting to the Operations Manager, who will provide support and will require weekly and monthly reports on activities.

There is the possibility of extending the contract beyond the contracted year with exciting opportunities to move into new roles in our expanded services in the future.
