Operations Manager – Mental Health - Temporary Position

• £22,000 to £26,500 pa negotiable and depending on experience

• Location: Maidstone Mind – Maidstone

• Hours: Full Time – 37 Hours per week. 33 days Annual Leave per annum (which includes bank holiday days) Mon to Fri, Occasional evening or weekend may be work required.

• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role and candidate must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Maidstone Mind was established in 1979 and is affiliated to National Mind, a leading mental health charity.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of people who are experiencing mental health problems by providing well-respected services, high quality information and advice. We provide support to individuals, carers and families through a wide range of diverse services.

The Operations Manager is a pivotal role and the successful candidate will work closely with the CEO to oversee, lead and manage the operational aspects of Maidstone Mind, ensuring successful delivery of its key services whilst establishing systems that support the therapeutic engagement of users of services and the achievement of Maidstone Mind strategic objectives as directed by the CEO and Trustees.

You must have at least 12 months experience in a managerial role, preferably in mental health or the charity sector. We are currently going through a major transformation and so the right candidate must have commitment, drive, a ‘can do’ attitude, as well as being conscientious, pro-active and possess excellent leadership skills. .
It is important that you have good IT skills, including but not limited to the ability to use excel, Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The main role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Co-ordinating the planning and implementation of mental health day services.

• Managing the staff team and support services, conducting staff 1 to 1’s and staff appraisals.

• Organising events and activities for the users of services at the centre or externally.

• Taking part in and organising events, meetings and other marketing avenues to aid business generation.

• Provide weekly and monthly statistics on business performance, key indicators and social outcomes.

• Liaising with outside agencies, including but not limited to, Local Authorities, CCG’s, GP’s, Social Workers, Police and all other health and social care professionals.

• Marketing and awareness, building of the centre services to increase attendee numbers to capacity.

• Uphold efficient and effective filing systems and quality management procedures.

• Training and development of the mental health team.

• Facilitating users of services forums and chairing users of services meetings.

• Delivering mental health awareness training and presentations.

You will be reporting to the Chief Executive, who will provide support and will require weekly and monthly reports on the business performance.
