The service specialises in the assessment and treatment of service users meeting the criteria for secondary mental health services, serving the community of Medway and a population of approximately 250 thousand people . The service provides initial assessments and treatment for service users that live in the community of Medway. You will be based in Maidstone.
Job Dimensions/Responsibilities:
•Support the work of the multidisciplinary team by:
•Consistently delivering a patient focused service, which promotes optimum independence.
•Offering appropriate support and advice to the patients.
•Recording accurately all care given as required.
•Enable patients to maintain and improve their independence by promoting involvement in the therapeutic activity programme.
•Noting and reporting accurately any care given and/or information required by the nurse in charge.
•Give physical care as required or instructed.
•Promote patients appearance and personal hygiene by offering support and advice in personal hygiene and ensure that suitable toiletries are available.
•Promote a healthy, safe and secure environment by adhering to Trust statutory health and safety requirements and maintain confidentiality of information at all times in compliance with Trust and Forensic Service policies.
•Assist patients and ward managers to maintain a clean and healthy ward environment and assist patients in all aspects of daily living skills as required.
Training to be Provided: Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care for the duration of 12 months.
Skills Required: •strong communication skills
•ability to work under pressure
•good IT skills
•proven team working skills
•be aware of confidentiality issues
Qualifications Required: Ideally GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
You will need to be able to work confidently in situations where there may be potential for violence whilst continuing to act in a professional manner.
Ideally applicants will be aged 18 and over due to the nature of the working environment.
Working Week: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours (various shifts)
Weekly Wage £ 100.50
