Regional Sales Supervisor
(Maternity Cover – 9 months)
Commensurate Salary Package + Performance Incentives + Company Benefits
The Company
Established in 1904, Parkersteel is the largest independent steel stockholder in the south of England, with its head office based in Canterbury and depots in Andover, Shoreham and Cambridge.
Employing over 450 people, and boasting some of the industry’s latest and most innovative machinery; with one of the UK’s most varied and sized stock range, Parkersteel is well-known for exceptional service levels and is an industry leader in steel distribution and processing
The Role
As part of an ambitious and target driven sales team, you will be responsible for a team of up to 10 individuals, working on proactive selling into the general steel and engineering market. You will be provided with a defined budget and sales region, whereby you will be expected to maximize the value created from your team, as well as developing a base of new customers, currently not spending.
With a good understanding of the business development lifecycle, you will manage both internal and external customer expectations in delivering a first rate service and ensuring a strong alignment to the company strategy in building the sales pipeline. In what is a very hands-on role, you will have a good understanding of both systems and products, and have the ability to drive forward successful sales initiatives.
The Person
Experience in the steel industry would be advantageous; although is not an essential requirement and wider experience from the general construction market would suffice. You should possess good sales experience and developed as a Manager, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage people of differing abilities.
You should be a self-starter with the ability to motivate others, and encourage a target driven, team environment. Eager to develop, you should also have aspirations of further career development and have a positive attitude when faced with work related challenges
