Spicers of Hythe are a long established company and one of the UKs leading suppliers hampers gifts. We are seeking a highly experienced and efficient accounts professional to operate and manage the company’s Sage accounting systems.
The role can be part time or full time and hours can be arranged to suit. This role may also be suitable for someone who is semi-retired, or returning to work after a career break. You will report directly to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities will include (but not restricted to):
• Previous experience managing Sage line 50 and 100 systems
• Sales and purchase ledger management
• Credit control and bank reconciliations
• Production of management accounts
• Payroll
• VAT returns
• Year end preparations
• Banking
• Cash flow forecasting
The ideal candidate will:
- A good problem solver, organised and has excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work to tight timescales
- Work with precision and accuracy
- Ability to manage a busy work load and prioritise duties
- Excellent written skills
- Have good knowledge of all Microsoft packages
- Be proficient in MS Excel and an understanding of databases
The successful candidate will have experience working in smaller companies, and be self-motivated with good time management and willing to assist in the business generally. You will have excellent communication skills and a natural ability to see what needs doing and ensure it gets done.
You must have up-to-date knowledge of current accounting practices, payroll issues and relevant legislation, and the ability to deal with people sensitively whether as staff, customers or suppliers.
Good references and relevant qualifications are pre-requisite.
You will be a friendly individual with common sense, drive and full of exciting ideas who can work as part of a team, whilst being able to work independently as required.
Due to the location of the business a car is essential.
