Residential Support Worker
Hourly Rate: 7.15 per hour whilst completing Diploma 3 in Health and Social Care, £8.00 per hour upon completion

The Acorn Group is a specialist company providing wrap around services for children in care. Due to expansion, Acorn is seeking to add to its successful management team.

The successful candidate will join one of the few expanding and specialist children's services. Within four years Acorn Group has already established itself with a wide range of authorities for the provision and excellence of care and support we give young people.
Our reputation is preceding us and you will be joining a team with a strong philosophy and ability to deliver for every young person.

Acorns approach to young people in care services involves significant involvement in external activities and programs of sports and community involvement.

This position is subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.

Acorn Group’s sporting engagement approach uniquely prepares and equips the Children and Young People in our service to better deal with life’s challenges.

We have a multi-talented and diverse staff team who have the ability to role model and develop relationships with Young People in our care, whose early attachments with their primary care givers has often been inconsistent and not developed securely.

Our approach enables the Young People we care for to develop and maximise their full potential. Young People can then achieve a sense of belonging and equilibrium in their lives, feeling safe and secure as a start to equip them with the necessary tools and attributes to lead successful, independent and meaningful pathways

Residential Services
All homes are suitable for both genders for between eleven and eighteen years old.
Our homes provide a safe environment incorporating our philosophy of care. We provide comprehensive planned or emergency services for Young People in need of immediate, temporary or longer term support and intervention. Each Young Person will have an individual planner that caters for all their interests, whatever these may be, to engage and channel them in a positive way. We believe it is hugely important that the Young Person not only feels part of the family environment but also the community, through various clubs, schools, charities and other organisations they may participate with. Stability, structure and routine, with staff groups who genuinely care, is key to a Young Person achieving.

Quality Assurance
The aim of Acorn Homes Quality Assurance is to implement framework that can assist in improving outcomes for the children in our care.

The Framework is influenced by guidelines such as:
Adoption and Children Act 2002 (and associated National Minimum Standards and statutory guidance);
Care Standards Act 2000 (and associated National Minimum Standards);
Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations Volume 5: Children’s Homes(2011);
Children and Young Person’s Act 2008 (and associated Care Planning, Placement and Care Review Regulations);
Children Act 2004;
Working Together to Safeguard Children (Department for Children, Schools and Families, 2010).
