The Role:
This is a great opportunity to become a part-time member of the Estates Finances team, ensuring the efficient administration of the order and invoice processes within the Department under the supervision of the Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk.
The working hours will be 09:00 - 17:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The Person:
The succesful candidate will have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above or an equivalent level qualification, as well as demonstrable working knowledge of MS Office software. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills at all levels, are essential and excellent and demonstrable numeracy skills are required. The ability to prioritise own workloads to meet deadlines and work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail, are all key aspects of the role and the ability to remain focussed and calm when faced with competing demands, in a busy environment is a must.
There is a requirement for some flexibility in working hours during the end of July, beginning of August due to end of financial year requirements and only limited annual leave will be approved during July, due to this.

Estates Department:
The campus is built on a ridge overlooking the City of Canterbury and comprises some 300 acres of wooded parkland. The full-time student population numbers are 18,000. A large percentage of the student body resides on campus in the five colleges and the Park Wood and Tyler Court housing developments. The Estates Department has responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the extensive grounds and buildings, the security of students, staff and visitors, a postal service and includes the Telephone Exchange and the University Design & Print Centre. It is also responsible for all new construction projects both at Canterbury and at our Medway campus at Chatham Maritime.
