We are looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist/Buyer with experience in materials management and purchasing within a manufacturing environment for a Global Manufacturing company in Kent.

You will be directly responsible for the procurement of a range of finished products and raw materials including source selection, negotiation, order placement and follow-up. You will manage order changes with suppliers to avoid cost and delivery delays, negotiate prices and lead times with vendors that are not part of a corporate contract, and resolve all supplier issues related to quotation conflicts.

The successful candidate will analyse and identify supplier trends to determine corrective action plans, which may sometimes result in looking for a new vendor. You will monitor purchase price variances and resolve any issues with the vendor.

You will take responsibility for the management and forecasts assigned components to insure inventory levels are appropriate to support the customer and you will co-ordinate purchasing activities between the business and customers in order to develop standard and non-standard issues, researching alternative vendors during shortage periods.

To be considered for this role, you will have materials management/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment and you will be able to identify and resolve problems, and build good relationships with vendors. Ideally, you will be educated to a graduate level or equivalent and if you are CIPS certified this would be preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and other DB programs is necessary.

Please apply online for more information.
