The Ferry Inn are recruiting 2x Commis Chefs for our busy, productive kitchen. We are a friendly Country Pub & Restaurant serving traditional English & European food.

Experience essential.
Own transport required due to location.

Duties to include
Assisting in prep, cooking and presentation of food according to recipes, including portioning, chopping, storing, ordering.

Using various kitchen utensils and equipment, including operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers to prepare food.

Setup and breakdown work stations, ensure adequate fill of containers, storing items appropriately and cleaning as you go.

Follow safety procedures to ensure a clean, safe and secure environment.

Monitor daily temperature records.

Help check food items on delivery and tidy them into storage at the temperature laid down in the Food Safety Act 1990.

To ensure you learn, understand and engage in the up to date regulations on Hygiene, Health and Safety at all times when working in the work place.

To report if you have any accident however small to the Head Chef or Chef in charge

Develop and maintain positive working relationship, behave in a polite, courteous, helpful manner at all times to other members of the team and our guest

Contribute to high levels of customer service.

Skills
Communication skills, reliable, able to work alone and with a team, safety orientated, dependable, basic cookery, passion for catering.

Qualifications
3 GCSE’s to include English & Maths.

C&G 701/702 or NVQ desired but not essential.

Personal Qualities
Outgoing, well-organised, positive, imaginative, diligent and conscientious

Working Week
Minimum 30 hours per week.

Shift patterns include Mon-Fri, 10am – 10pm, weekends and bank holidays.
