The John Townsend Trust Hydro Centre is continuing to increase its membership and is now opening at the earlier time of 4.00 p.m. for gym users.
As a result we require additional bank support:

Fitness Instructor
• Bank 0 hour contract as and when hours are available
• £6.94 per hour

The Fitness Instructor is an important role in the new Centre in developing professional and supportive relationships with fitness clients to help them to achieve their full potential.

Duties will include fitness assessments, feedback, planning routines, delivering classes, teaching and demonstrating use of gym and training equipment, conducting gym inductions, along with providing information on nutrition and lifestyle. The role will be expected to promote the Hydro Pool and gym through membership sales, conducting tours as necessary. It is important that etiquette fostered in the gym classes and hydro reflects the importance of safety and the ethos of the Trust.

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of diet, nutrition, exercise and health along with an appreciation of difficulties faced by young people and adults with disabilities and additional needs. At least 5 years experience of instruction in a health club or similar fitness environment, experience of teaching a variety of fitness classes, excellent communication skills with patience and resilience will be required. An NVQ Level 4 Specialist Exercise Certificate or a relevant registration document would be desirable.

Flexibility will be required as this post is on a bank zero hour basis as and when support is required and as the business grows.
