An established provider of outsourced M&E services to the public and private sector are looking to recruit high calibre Mechanical Engineers from Junior up to Senior levels. Projects cover housing, education (primary, secondary and tertiary) and commercial (including data suites). The company also has long experience of prison projects. Project values vary from feasibility studies starting at around £1500 to construction projects up to about £20 million.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate a stable background working within the Building Services Industry as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Primary duties will be to support the engineering manager in major business activities and special projects. You will be able to co-ordinate and manage all engineering activities on allocated projects or part projects as required, as well as undertaking mechanical design tasks, particularly the design and analysis of mechanisms and mechanical plant.

• Energy Modelling experience over a three year period
• To work flexibly to undertake a variety of mechanical design activities associated with the design, test, substantiation and installation of high integrity mechanical plant and systems.
• Supervise and support other in engineering.
• Providing mechanical design input to tender.
• Being responsible for the development of allocated junior staff as appropriate
• Leading discussions with the project Client/Design team in order to ensure that programmes are delivered to specification, cost and time.
• Co-ordinating with other areas within business in order to ensure the provision of appropriate design support commitment.
• Working within and maintaining required records for all work in order to satisfy company standards, procedures and legal requirements.
• Keeping abreast of latest technology and identify technology developments and resources appropriate to the business needs and engineering activities.
• Writing and checking reports, proposal calculations and statistics.

Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
• Accredited energy Modeller with at least 3 years’ experience and understanding of the requirements of
• BREEAM ENE01 and ENE04
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in relevant subject
• Competent in all aspects of mechanical building services design, ideally with technical expertise to Chartered Engineer level or above
• Membership of UK CIBSE
• Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing
• Previous team management experience
• Previous project management experience
• Ability to deliver projects within set deadlines.
• Are able to positively advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts mechanical engineering issues.
