Warehouse Operative

Hays Logistics & Operations is seeking a Warehouse Operative for a key job in the North Kent area. This job will be offered on a long-term temporary contract for the right candidate with strong possibility of permanent.

Our client is a world leader in their industry based in North Kent with an annual turnover of £50 million+. The successful candidate will have to operate process machinery, work flexibly and have had experience of working in a warehouse environment.

Key skills and desirables are:

· Ensure that own and team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in a manner that fully complies with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.

· Follow Felt Leadership and Behavioural Health & Safety standards in all activities.

· Operate materials handling equipment in a safe and productive manner to deliver the required levels of customer service.

· Work flexibly and as directed, according to skills, in order to meet the operational needs of the business.

· Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification, using business IT system(s) e.g. Stratix.

· Be able to recognise and identify the range of relevant business products used to service customer requirements.

· Maintain required standards of ‘housekeeping’ within prescribed area of responsibility

· Support continuous improvement activities to optimise process efficiencies.

The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate qualities of flexibility, initiative, drive and commitment. They would need to be able to work safely under pressure and to tight timescales. Knowledge of steel decoiling and processing would be an advantage, as well as some alliterative and enumerative knowledge of computer operation.
