The Client is a family run business who have been established for more than 40 years specialising in Manual Labour Supply to most of the major construction project in London and the South East. With a turnover of £19m and around 400 staff working across these projects the company has become one of the suppliers of choice in their sector.

Their strengths as a company are in the relationships that have been built within their clients over the years. The confidence and trust that has been established by their staff comes from their knowledge of the industry as well as from the quality of service provided.

Their aim is to be the quality provider of labour to long-term Civil Engineering and Rail projects in the south of England. They endeavour to provide a good, safe working environment for their staff and to have teams working with the top Construction Companies on long-term projects. In addition, they wish to have a profitable partnership with all of their staff by supplying a fully trained and highly skilled workforce to their clients.

The role - Finance Assistant - £16,000 - £20,000 depending on experience

The role is working within a small team based at the Head Office in Margate and is essential to the smooth running of the business. Your role will cover all aspects of the invoicing and auditing process as well as building excellent relationships with your contacts to ensure invoices are paid on time and any issues are resolved as soon as possible.

On a day to day basis you will be generating invoices to clients based on payroll and timesheets, around £400k per week, updating spreadsheets, reporting to the Bank and Management Accountants, generating reports, resolving invoicing issues, chasing payments and attending client meetings. On the auditing side you will be overseeing ISO and Link Up accreditation requirements.

In order for this role to be a success it is essential that you build strong relationships with your contacts, they will include Site based Quantity Surveyors, Client Accounts departments and internal site representative colleagues.

The successful applicant will have experience working within a busy Finance team, you will have good relationship building skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of contacts. You will be professional, down to earth and extremely organised as you will be required to follow up on issues that were not able to be resolved immediately. Someone who is able to be persuasive but not pushy would do particularly well in this position.
