Are you looking for a new teaching opportunity outside of mainstream education?

Capita Education’s SEN Division is working on behalf of a Pupil Referral Unit based in the Thanet area to recruit and SEN Teacher for September. Our client is a PRU which offers an alternative learning environment for KS4 students who are disengaged and struggle with mainstream education. We are looking for Teachers with experience of teaching a range of subjects including ICT, Public Services, PSHE, Science, Horticulture and vocational subjects.

The successful SEN Teacher will be required to:
- Plan and deliver the curriculum at Key Stage 4 including BTEC qualifications
- Provide pastoral support in the centre
- Be responsible for the planning and monitoring of the students progress
- Liaise and work closely with local schools and other external agencies

In order to carry out the role effectively, you will:
- Experience of delivering vocational and/or academic subjects
- Have a recognised teaching qualification – PGCE/DTTLS with QTS or QTLS status
- Have the ability to deliver creative and innovative lessons to students who can be reluctant and disengaged from education
- Be able to differentiate the curriculum for students with a range of learning difficulties
- Have experience of leading a team of support staff and liaise effectively with other agencies and staff members
- The ability to build and manage relationships constructively with a wide range of pupils
