Following our successful floatation on the London Stock Exchange, multiple permanent opportunities have become available within Saga Group Finance department in the Change Management and Financial Accounting areas. These roles are essential in delivering high quality financial information for the business and will play a key role in analysis and helping drive business performance.

The role within the Change Management team will be project based initially, and will form part of a team of three Finance professionals responsible for planning and implementing a programme of change that is required to the external and internal financial reporting regime for the Saga plc Group consolidated accounts and the systems used to support it.
As part of the development of the management accounts, there is also a need to align these with the statutory accounts, which are produced at the half-year and year-end, and a further stage of the change process will be to identify and enact such alignment, and to eventually systemise the production of the statutory accounts.
The second position, within Financial Accounting will be responsible for compiling and producing the consolidated statutory and management accounts for the Saga plc Group. Statutory accounts are required to be produced at the half-year and year-end, with interim Q1 and Q3 summary updates also required. Management accounts are produced monthly, in addition to the annual consolidated strategic plan and detailed budget.
Due to the diversity of businesses in the Saga Group, and the need to report under IFRS at a Group level whilst subsidiaries still report under UK GAAP, you must possess comprehensive and detailed knowledge of accounting standards and how these vary between IFRS and UK GAAP.
First-rate communication, presentation and team working skills are important for both of these roles, as are numeracy and accuracy along with the ability to work to deadlines.
