Bromley College is the major provider of vocational education and training in the Bromley area. We provide a distinctive range of courses for young people and a wide range of professional and employment related qualifications for adults.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Security Officer to work across both our Bromley and Orpington campuses in order to promote a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the benefit of staff, students and visitors. The Senior Security Officer will have responsibility for the activities of security staff including any contract officers, maintaining appropriate cover of entrances and throughout the College sites, including regular patrols to identify any breaches of security or inappropriate behaviour.

The ideal candidate will hold an SIA Door Supervision Licence and a Health & Safety qualification (Level 2 or above) and a First Aid at Work Certificate. A minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or a willingness to complete is highly desirable. Candidates should have previous experience of supervising a team in the security sector, preferably in a College environment and should be skilled in resolving conflict. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm in all situations and a professional and courteous approach is all essential for this role.

As the College supports a number of children and vulnerable adults, all staff are exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Accordingly, most staff will be subject to either a ‘Standard’ or ‘Enhanced’ DBS (formerly CRB) check.
