For: C++ Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

The core requirements the candidate must have: -

Excellent knowledge of C++, GUI applications & Systems integration
Knowledge of PC applications, systems applications - to understand design structures and have sound methods of integration and implementation. To create tools to accelerate development verification and robustness of own designs
Linux systems and design libraries
Fluent in documentation, ISO processes and procedures
Adequate in understanding hardware digital circuits
Experience of at least two of the following will be an advantage but not essential;:
EN54-2: Fire detection and fire alarm systems control and indicating equipment
EN54-4: Fire detection and fire alarm systems Power supply equipment
EN54-13: Fire detection and fire alarm systems compatibility assessment of system components
EN54-24: Fire detection and fire alarm systems component of voice alarm systems Loud speakers (inc some EN54-3: sounders)
UL 508a Fire control equipment knowledge BS5266-1,10: Emergency Lighting Code of Practice - premises BS EN50172, UL 924: Emergency Escape Lighting systems
ISO9001 Quality Practices
Technical Knowledge and Experience required:

Candidate A: Software engineer - to develop further our feature rich touch screen Graphical User Interface.
Must be fluent in the use of QT framework and C++

Candidate B: Embedded software engineer - to continue development on our Embedded Linux system
C++
Linux experience
Experience with Mobile, PC, Telecommunications systems will be an advantage
Experience with ARM Core processors will be an advantage
Skills and Experiences that will help your application

Creating reports
Fire Industry
Working with Audio acoustics and audio control
Smoke control, Ventilation controllers including design constraints and appropriate standards applicable
Emergency lighting
Industry multi-language systems
Designing with testing in mind
Design for manufacture
Education
Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate in Engineering

Ideally local 40 mile radius of DA1, but can be flexible depending on candidate status
