Our client urgently requires a Legal Executive, Solicitor or Barrister who has at least 2 years experience in advising on and recovering Social Care Debt.
The client would expect this individual to (1) have recent experience in advising Council departments on assessing individuals for social care charges, including but not limited to care-home fees (interpreting and applying relevant guidance: i.e. CRAG); and (2) act for the Council’s debt recovery team, litigating where required, to recover unpaid social care debt.
In addition, knowledge related to dealing with estates of deceased service users and adult social care law would be an advantage.
The individual is expected to be able to work with minimal supervision and part-time working arrangements may be available.
Experience in either of the following would also be desirable but not essential:
General Civil Litigation; or
Property Litigation.
