Business Sales and Revenue Development Manager for Short Breaks
Location: Lympne, Near Hythe, Kent, United Kingdom
Salary: Competitive Salary commensurate with experience

Port Lympne Reserve and Howletts Wild Animal Park are world class wildlife parks and established visitor attractions run by the international animal conservation charity; The Aspinall Foundation. We are looking to recruit a commercially astute Business Development/Revenue/Yield Manager with significant experience gained in the leisure & tourism industry to be based at our Port Lympne Reserve. You will be joining this entrepreneurial organisation at a time when you will be given the opportunity to play an integral part in the organisation’s growth and development.
The Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented senior manager to maximise revenue, market share and profits of the Short Breaks brand through efficient yield management and product development.
You will oversee the Short Breaks Sales Team and must be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and have the ability and vision to grow and expand the business to generate maximum income and deliver outstanding customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
* To determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments with the aim of maximising the Short Breaks revenue.
* Observing the market, identifying trends and monitoring any main competitors.
* Effective yield management in order to maximise revenue opportunities.
* Liaising with the Communications and Marketing Team to plan and execute multi-channel campaigns that will optimise the sales strategy.
* Devising, implementing and monitoring sales activities in order to achieve both gross and net percentage sales targets.
* Networking and negotiating with travel operators to capitalise on new market opportunities and maximise revenue.
* Required to act as Duty Manager from time to time the successful candidate will be required to gain a full understanding of all areas of the parks so a flexible and adaptable approach is important in this role.
The Person:
* Significant experience gained in the hospitality, leisure or visitor attraction environment in a similar role is essential.
* An excellent understanding of revenue and selling is important.
* Have a proven track record of effective negotiation with industry agents in order to achieve the best possible terms.
* Be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and have the ability to generate and sustain effective work relationships with a diverse range of people.
* Be self driven and continually looking to improve personal and business performance.
* Have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise along with strong verbal & written English language skills are important.
* A flexible and adaptable approach.
* Encompass the drive, vision and ambition necessary to grow and expand the business and deliver against set targets.
Based at Port Lympne Reserve the post holder may be required to undertake occasional business travel so a valid diving licence and your own transport is vital. You will be expected to work an average of 40 hours a week, worked five days out of seven including weekends.
