Due to increasing requirements The John Townsend Trust now have the following vacancies for our care settings in the Children’s Home, School, and Adult Services Margate and Westgate:
Care Assistants
· Pay Point 1 (£6.34 per hour) – 2.5 (£6.61 per hour)
· 20 and 40 hour a week posts available
· Full year with 33 days paid holiday including bank holidays
The Care Assistant is part of a support team providing a service of care to children and young people to enable them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. Duties include assisting with personal and dietary care and undertaking domestic and household tasks. A Certificate in Health & Social Care or Preparing to Work in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Bank Support Workers
· Pay Point dependant on role undertaken
· 0 hours bank work as available and offered
The Trust cannot always predict the exact staffing levels it will require and so requires casual workers for the care team on a bank basis. Work will be offered as and when available.
For all roles an appreciation of difficulties faced by Deaf children and young people with additional needs is essential as are good communication skills and commitment to learn BSL. Full details of the requirements are outlined within each job specification.
