Connect2Kent are looking for a Support Officer to work on a temporary basis within KCC Property department based in central Maidstone but will be required to travel around Kent for business.

Main duties and responsibilities

· To support the Statutory Services Managers to deliver pro-active, professional property management support and advice.

· To carry out access audits across a wide variety of buildings, services and departments as directed by the Statutory Services Manager (Access).

· Support managers by gathering and organising a range of information from a variety of sources, including computer systems, manual records and through personal contacts, in order to produce detailed reports.

· Co-ordinate and track information on behalf of managers liaising with external partnership agencies where appropriate, checking and validating it to ensure that it is up-to-date, accurate and consistent, in order to ensure that managers are able to make fully informed decisions.

· Brief and advise staff at all levels, including Senior Managers and on occasion Members, as well as external agencies, concerning Statutory Services.

· Produce presentations and provide written reports and additional information as required by managers.

· Prepare, store, analyse and present information as appropriate, using a variety of techniques and tools, both computer and manual and designing spreadsheet and information tools as required, in order to support and inform managers.

· Assist with activity in conjunction with Property & Infrastructure Support, Property Consultants and service directorates to ensure effective communication.

Experience of working in a property environment

Experience of working with a range of partner organisations and agencies

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to present information and data, both orally and written, to a range of audiences in a clear and concise manner

Good negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with people both internal and external to the organisation at differing levels of seniority

Ability to travel across a wide geographical area at various times or short notice.
Good communication and interpersonal skills including networking, advocacy and written skills
Ability to keep accurate records

Effective report writing and presentation skills

Knows when to escalate issues

Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Political awareness, diplomacy and sensitivity

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of planning and design regulations and associated constraints

Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010

Knowledge of legislation relevant to Statutory Services
