Assistant Quantity Surveyor required for refurbishment division of Decent Homes Construction business in Swanley, Kent.
£22,000 - £30,000 + Benefits
Purpose of the role is to assist the Quantity Surveyors and the Senior Quantity Surveyors with the financial and contractual administration of projects carried out by division.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Ensure that HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times;
Co-operate and engage with the project team to ensure consistent delivery of successful projects in order to support the achievement of business objectives and to deliver target margins;
Support the Quantity Surveyor with the forecasting of cash File and distribute documents and drawings
Preparing, distributing and completing subcontract procurement documents
Preparing, distributing and completing subcontract documents.
Analysis, assessment and comparison of subcontractors' quotations.
Site Measurement of different trades including summarising and valuing their works.
Payment to Sub-contractors.
Take off quantities from drawings.
Evaluation of C.V.I's and Architects' Instructions.
Collate information for the monthly cost/value reconciliations.
Preparing details for Final Account, both for the main contract and sub contracts
Job Specification
Essential
Studying towards HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying.
Previous experience in similar role
I.T literate particularly Excel and keen to extend knowledge on software packages and Microsoft Office.
Numerate to high standard, able to analyse data and produce costs and information for final accounts.
Able to produce work accurately and to tight deadlines.
Able to work as part of a team and operate in a supportive role.
