Excellent opportunity for a Part Time Finance Assistant to join well established business in Swanley, Kent.
Hours of work : 20 hours per week.
Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 pro rata + Excellent benefits
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance department in administration and accounting duties. Ensuring financial information is recorded and reported.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
To coordinate information required by Finance.
Ensure all transactions for development projects are accurate and efficiently entered onto Peoplesoft.
Ensure all invoices and other paperwork is correctly addressed to the appropriate company.
Ensure all transactions are properly authorised prior to arranging timely payments.
Ensure all transactions are accounted for correctly in accordance with VAT regulations, properly entered onto Peoplesoft to enable accurate VAT treatment.
To assist the AFA to monitor and report Group sales; deposits, exchanges, completions. Liaising with sales team, agents, solicitors and banks.
For the Group (company, subsidiary and joint venture entities); to coordinate information, audit and maintain records to satisfy HMRC Value Added Tax (VAT) and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) requirements. Ensure all returns are made on time and adhere to up to date legislation.
To assist AFA in monthly reporting process, including Group consolidation adjustments and Balance Sheet reviews .
Carry out investigations and other projects as required.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Preferred studier of AAT or equivalent
Experience of JD Edwards or Peoplesoft is desirable
Self Motivated and ready for a new challenge
Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with both senior management and managing a small team with the ability to effect change
Able to work unsupervised using their own initiative whilst working to tight deadlines
