HR MANAGER
9-12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Business Unit: Asset Management/Facilities Management

The role
• To provide the interface between HR and the Senior Management Team of Facilities Management – Retail (Bluewater, Touchwood and Golden Square) within Lend Lease to embed a strategic approach to human resource development and management that results in more effective front line delivery.
• To manage and support the local HR and Training team.

Responsibilities

• To provide the interface to senior managers/ stakeholders, through the provision of high quality guidance and support in developing and progressing people management solutions to achieve business objectives.
• Coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on complex HR issues.
• To use workforce intelligence to identify people management requirements and performance issues and establish credibility as an expert in strategic HR within an operational service.
• To provide ER advice and guidance to managers.
• To ensure that all relevant legislative requirements, including those relating to diversity, sexual orientation, disability and age are embedded in the advice provided to line managers and others.
• To drive and support the development and delivery of cultural change plans and interventions.
• To provide advice and guidance to managers during times of change.
• To work in partnerships with managers in the development and maintenance of good working relationships with our Trade Unions Partners
• To work in partnership with other support service areas including Finance, ICT and Legal across the full range of HR activities
• To lead and participate, as required, in working groups involved in the development and promotion of HR policy and procedures.
• Ensure all HR related queries from employees and management are dealt with in a timely manner
• Provide advice on change processes during organisational transition
• Create and review job profiles as and when required
• Undertake Hay ( type) grade evaluation of all new job profiles (called Career Job Framework)
• Carry out interviews with the appropriate hiring manager(s) and ensure all correct documentation is completed by HR/line management.
• Represent Lend Lease at the centre as the first point of contact for all guests
• Maintain a professional personal appearance, adhering at all times to the centre Styling / Grooming Guide
• Attend and participate in team briefings, toolbox, and coffee talks
• Attend standard Lend Lease training courses and other training events in line with an agreed personal / professional development plan
• Maintain confidentiality at all times concerning the guests and business of Lend Lease
• Attend training as required to obtain relevant qualifications
• Any other duties commensurate with the post as required by Lend Lease.

Typical generic task schedule to achieve the above
• Report all accidents / incidents and near misses to the Help Desk
• Report all building / grounds defects or hazards to the Help Desk




Essential Criteria
• CIPD / Degree qualified or equivalent relevant qualification
• Practical working HR experience
• Experienced in Employee Relations
• Experience in a similar operational environment
• Experienced managing organisational change
• High levels of initiative and self-motivation
• Excellent communicator at all levels
• Experience of planning & progressing work following processes and procedures with minimum referral to senior management
• Proven management skills
• Budget management experience

Desirable Criteria
• Experience in a multi-site environment

CONTEXTUAL / OTHER INFORMATION
• Must be willing to undergo DBS (CRB) checking if required and achieve any agreed appropriate vocational qualifications.
• Must be prepared to work hours and out of hours as required to meet the needs of a busy shopping centre.
• Must be prepared to travel between retail centres: Bluewater (Kent), Touchwood (Solihull) and Golden Square (Warrington).
• From time to time your manager may ask you to do other reasonable tasks not stated within this role profile but commensurate with your position.
