Becoming an Analyst Programmer at the University of Kent offers you a chance to play a key role in supporting and developing the student experience. In this role, you will be working with a motivated project team to help build a new student data system based on the Tribal SITS platform.
There are two roles available, one focussing on the current Student Data system and one developing the replacement.
In the first role you will be working in a motivated team to help run and support the existing Student Data System and help to facilitate the migration to the new Tribal SITS platform. You will work with a range of technical staff and business owners to provide key student and reporting services to the University.
In the second role, you will have the opportunity to use Tribal SITS toolsets, such as the Standard Reports and Letter (SRL) and associated entity configuration, to create web based interfaces to support the entire student lifecycle. You will also help to facilitate the data migration from the current Student Data System and ensure existing University workflows are implemented correctly.
The Person
You will enjoy working with a range of stakeholders to create a new student data system that meets the wide-ranging needs of the University. You will have a flair for understanding business processes and creating intuitive web interfaces.
Your key technical strengths will include a strong database and web development skills. You will also be proactive with great diagnostic and communication skills. We welcome applications from talented individuals who are enthusiastic to take on new challenges and learn on the job. For the first role, you should be familiar with the challenges of running legacy systems and be enthusiastic about fostering improvements and managing change.
