Main Duties:
• We are seeking a Web & Integration Officer to join our busy team. The Web & Integration team manages the web requirements of EK Services’ three partner authorities (Canterbury, Dover and Thanet).
Duties include:
• Supporting web and integration technology users as required including incident resolution to defined • SLAs
• Developing and supporting existing web based technology including CMS, payment, booking and mapping systems and related reporting tools
• For all projects working with partners to ensure maximum opportunities for customer self-service and delivery of agreed business benefits
• Developing and supporting integration solutions between systems
• Developing and supporting bespoke web and integration solutions and customising Open Source software
• Assisting in delivering the technical aspects of the web & integration service including web hosting and security, system implementations and upgrades
• Developing and supporting EK Services and partners intranet solutions
• Ensuring all development work is fully commented and documented
• Regular travel between sites is required so own transport would be an advantage.
Essential Requirements:
• Awareness of the public sector environment and security and compliance issues
• Technology - programming languages and associated skills: ASP.NET C# / MVC framework /CSS / XML / JSON / JQuery / JavaScript
• Technology - application management: MS SQL databases and IIS 6, 7, 7.5 including applying SSL certificates
Project delivery and fault resolution:
• Ability to understand and successfully resolve complex problems and exploit opportunities
• Proven excellent inter-personal, networking and negotiation skills and a strong customer focus.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and self-motivated
• Proven experience of supporting the delivery of web services and a thorough understanding of industry standards
• Proven practical experience of using the technologies as listed above and their effective use
• Proven practical experience of networking and Internet protocols
• Practical experience of database reporting tools
• Proven experience of effective team working
• Proven track record of effectively managing conflicting priorities
• To evidence the key competencies within the role of Team Member as identified in the EK Services Competency framework
Desirable Requirements:
• Practical experience in the public sector would be preferred but not essential
• Knowledge of PHP would be desirable but not essential
